It's finally finished!!
My magnetic advent calendar I've been working on is finally finished!! Woohoo! Got a few more Christmas cards made, and a family picture to put in our cards. Still have lots of stuff to make!!
All in all it's been a fairly decent week so far, here's hoping that it warms up for the weekend. :P

Another week gone by...
Well after my very productive, sleepless last weekend...I had a completely unproductive week. For the first time I did not go get Brad from work cause I was sound asleep...and it happened on his birthday of all days! Needless to say he wasn't thrilled, but he was fine about it...I think he realized how tired I was since I hadn't even heard the phone ring! So we had a pretty quiet weekend the last couple days.
Sunday I woke up to the sound of the mixer and I was trying to figure out what in the world Brad and Mercedes could be making...I knew we didn't have any mixes so I was both a little frightened and intrigued. Upon entering the kitchen and asking what was going on, Mercedes excitedly told me that they were making "icing cookies". I wondered if Brad realized that sugar cookies are an all day affair....one I had been trying to avoid! lol I finally resigned myself to the fact that cookies and icing and dough and flour everywhere was inevitable. Then I looked in the bowl. Brad had been mixing away and asked me how you could tell if the butter and sugar were creamed enough. I came to look and almost immediately noticed that the butter to sugar ratio did not seem right....because it wasn't! lol Brad had never measured butter before so he was amazed when I showed him the handy measurements right on the package! lol Needless to say we had to double the whole recipe. I also wanted for the butter to soften a bit so I could really mix it without my mixer sounding like it was going to give out completely. Lesson 2 for Brad...butter is much easier to work with if softened first. Now the whole waiting for the butter to soften thing would have given me a nice chance to wake up before I would be up to my elbows in cookie dough, except for one thing....Mercedes. Every 30 seconds she asked "is it ready yet?". We did eventually get the dough made and Mercedes cut out all the cookies, while Brad and I took turns rolling dough, putting pans in the oven etc. Finally just before dinner time the cookies were finished! Baked, cooled, iced and put away! Mercedes picked out enough cookies so she could take everyone in her class a cookie today...which was just fine cause we still have a bunch! lol At the end of it all Brad looked at me and said "Sorry hun, I really had no idea what a production making cookies could be!" So all and all, Mercedes had a great day doing one of her favorite things and Brad learned that sugar cookies cannot be made in less than an hour!! lol
Other than that, it is freezing cold here the last few days. Today was -24 with the windchill -30 and there is no break in site for the next few days. I hate it when it's this cold...I wish I didn't have to even leave the house, but my chauffer position is always demanding I go somewhere!
I did get my first design team package with some fun stuff I'm looking forward to working with. Still not done my advent calendar...only 10 more magnets to go. Plus I have a bunch of other stuff that needs to be done before Christmas so I may not get to play with my new stuff till after the holiday season.
